This combination of LoRaWan transmitter and SMT100 allows accurate measurement of soil moisture over long distances (LoRaWan typical range in open air approx. 1km)
The set comes completely pre-configured by us, and upon request we can also adjust the cable lengths (shortening at no extra charge, extension at an additional cost).
It includes 1x Dragino RS485 LoRaWan sensor and up to 4x SMT100 RS485 Modbus sensors.
Alternatively, a TH100 or Aquaflex sensor can be used
Read values
- In the variant 1-3x SMT100 the values soil moisture, temperature, permittivity and meter reading are read out
- In the 4xSMT100 variant, the values soil moisture, temperature and permittivity are read out
- The same applies to the Aquaflex option as to the SMT100
- With the TH100 option, the value for air humidity and air temperature is read out
We configure the outputs as byte sequences, you will receive a corresponding description.
For the Chirpstack/ThingsIndustries/MQTT configuration, we also offer a customized decoder implementation (Javascript for Chirpstack Device Decoder).

Gateway
A corresponding recipient is required to collect the data. We distinguish between two categories:
a) Cloud-based data storage:
Here, the receiver (gateway) only serves as a forwarding instance, so the LoRa / LoRaWan receives data and forwards it to a cloud service, e.g. ThingsIndustries

b) Local server
With this variant, the data remains stored on the gateway and can be retrieved from there; MQTT is also directly available

OpenSprinkler
For combination with OpenSprinkler Both variants are possible, but with a) the MQTT service may have to be activated and set up at ThingsIndustries for a fee.
