The new OpenSprinker AC standard power supply

We are now delivering the OpenSprinkler AC and the OSPi with a new standard power supply (if ordered).

This power supply was manufactured exclusively for the OpenSprinklerShop and is not available in this version anywhere else.

The features and differences in detail:

  • Output: 24VAC with up to 1.5A, 36VA
  • Protective circuit: Protects against overheating and short circuits!
  • Can operate up to 8 zones simultaneously! See the video linked below!
  • No more power supply hum!
  • No adapter plug required anymore, can be screwed directly onto the orange OSPi/OpenSprinkler plug!
  • No price change to the previous standard power supply
  • 2 year OpenSprinklerShop guarantee!
  • Available here or when ordering new OpenSprinkler AC or OSPi, simply tick “standard power supply”!

Since this power supply can serve up to 8 zones, it is absolutely no longer necessary to offer more powerful power supplies for normal installation. For this reason, we are discontinuing the distribution of the 1A, 2A, 3A and 5A power supplies and only offer this standard power supply. However, for commercial and larger installations we still offer the powerful ones DIN rail power supplies to.

Video of the functional test with 8 solenoid valves (Rainbird 100-HV-MM 1″ 24 VAC):

Note: “Up to 8” as other solenoid valves from other manufacturers may have different performance specifications. Especially with the OSPi, the power supply also has to supply the Raspberry Pi, which further costs power.

But the OpenSprinkler Ethernet adapter also needs power, which means there are “only” 7 left.

The power supply is specified as 24VAC 1500mA. During my test I was able to measure a voltage of 23.9V at 1580mA. The power supply was just lukewarm even after 15 minutes of continuous load.

Further note: Like the OpenSprinkler, the power supply is not waterproof.
