AC adapter: Calculate the power using the following formula. To do this, you need to know the power consumption of the solenoid valves.
OpenSprinkler has a power consumption of about 2,2W = about 0,1A. A Rain-Bild solenoid valve has a maximum current of 0,3A
Ie with 4 solenoid valves AT THE SAME TIME you have 4x 0,3A + 0,1A = 1,3 A inrush current, the next larger power pack with 1,5A should be used. In the shop we have different power supplies.
If you only operate one or two solenoid valves at the same time, you have 2×0,3A+0,1A = 0,7A, a 1A power pack is sufficient. Even if you have 20 solenoid valves but only activate 2 at a time, that's enough.
Note: This is just a sample calculation! Observe the technical data of the solenoid valve manufacturer!

Never connect more than ONE solenoid valve to ONE OpenSprinkler exit on! OpenSprinkler can switch several outputs at the same time, so it is not necessary to combine several valves. An AC output can deliver up to 800mA of current. If that is not enough, you should operate the outputs via relays.
Version with plastic housing
Hardware revision 3.3 now supports the W5500 network module with 100MBit interface (currently only available to a limited extent!)

I have the OpenSprinkler Installed AC in my existing Gardena system with 4 circuits including rain sensor. No problems, good operating instructions, even the original Gardena power supply is enough, since I don't switch more than 2 circuits at the same time.
Let me now deal with the details of the automatic control by the weather forecast….

Delivery came quickly. Setup was easy. Unfortunately, the device was defective after about 3 weeks.
I then contacted support in the morning and received an answer within a few minutes.
Conclusion: After one day the problem was solved! The replacement device was even brought home personally. A 1 with an asterisk! Many shops can learn something from that.
