Scotchlok 3M 314 waterproof cable connector

This cable connector has a gel filling that makes the connection of solenoid valves in the valve box waterproof.

Up to 3 cables can be connected with one connector.

We recommend the following quantity for wiring solenoid valves:

Since each solenoid valve has 2 wires, but one of them can be grouped as “COMMON”, you need twice as many cable connectors as solenoid valves - 1. Why? Because in order to connect the “COMMON” connections to each other, an incoming and an outgoing wire must be connected, so only one connection per connector is available - except for the last one, where there are two.

Or expressed as a formula (for number of solenoid valves >= 2):

n = 2 x (number of solenoid valves) -1

Examples:

3 cable connectors for 2 solenoid valves
5 cable connectors for 3 solenoid valves
7 cable connectors for 4 solenoid valves
9 cable connectors for 5 solenoid valves
etc.
The formula just doesn't fit for a SINGLE solenoid valve, you need TWO connectors for that!

Installation:

1. Push the cable ends with insulation into the connector all the way to the end. If the cable ends are already stripped, cut them off.
2. Then use pliers (e.g. combination pliers) to press the blue part completely into the housing.
3. Check that the cables are secure by pulling them slightly.
4. Ready

A notice:

These cable connectors are intended for outdoor or valve box installation where the cables come into contact with rain or irrigation water. Use them only for this purpose!
