LoRaWAN / NB-IOT soil moisture sensor for SMT100, TH100 or Aquaflex

General description

This combination of LoRaWAN / NB-IoT transmitter and Truebner RS485 sensors allows precise measurement of soil moisture over long distances (LoRaWAN typical range outdoors approx. 1km. NB-IoT mobile network)

The module is completely preconfigured by us, and we can also adjust the cable lengths (standard length 10m, just shorten it) upon request.

It includes 1x Dragino RS485 LoRaWAN / NB-IoT sensor, which can be connected to up to 4x Truebner RS485 Modbus sensors. Select the sensors in the shop and we will install them straight away!

Are possible here SMT100, TH100 or Aquaflex, each in the RS485 Modbus version.

Read values

• In the 1-3x SMT100 variant, the values ​​of soil moisture, temperature, permittivity and meter reading are read out
• In the 4xSMT100 variant, the values ​​of soil moisture, temperature and permittivity are read out
• This applies to the Aquaflex option in the same way as to the SMT100
• With the TH100 option, the value for air humidity and air temperature is read out

We configure the outputs as byte sequences, you will receive a corresponding description.

For the Chirpstack/ThingsIndustries/MQTT configuration we also offer you an adapted decoder implementation (Javascript for Chirpstack Device Decoder).

LoRaWAN gateway

A corresponding receiver is required to record the data. We differentiate between two categories:

a) Cloud-based data storage:

Here, the receiver (gateway) only serves as a forwarding instance, so the LoRa / LoRaWAN receives data and forwards it to a cloud service, e.g. ThingsIndustries

b) Local server

With this variant, the data remains stored on the gateway and can be accessed from there; MQTT is also directly available

All of the above variants are possible for combination with OpenSprinkler. Make sure MQTT is configured.
