Hi, I bought the OpenSprinkler AC version (power connection in orange) and Hunter VAC valves.
Unfortunately I can't get the valves to work.
I connected one cable from the valve to Zone 1 and the other to COM.
As soon as I connect the open sprinkler to the power supply, the valve “clicks”. So opens? And it gets very warm/hot after 2-3 minutes.
If I want to open Zone 1 via the app, nothing happens...
The version (AC) should be correct, right?
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
What kind of power supply are you using? It must be a 24VAC – NOT 24VDC!!
Whenever all the valves open immediately after switching on, it seems to be the wrong power supply, because the triacs used need a zero crossing in order to switch, which only works with alternating voltage.
Immediately disconnect the OpenSprinkler from the (wrong) power supply, as the high current flow dangerously overloads the OpenSprinkler and solenoid valves.
Thanks, unfortunately I actually connected an AC/DC power supply :-/
I only saw it when I read the “small print”.
Thanks for the tip.
