Does the system also work with a Raspberry Zero. Do you have any experience with this?

Yes will work. Only the 40 pin strip has to be available, otherwise the circuit board cannot be plugged in. So only solder on the W/WH model or later.

So OSPi is tested with Raspi version:

Zero*
Zero W/WH
1 model A+
1 model B+
2 mod B
2 Mod B v1.2
3 model A+
3 mod B
3 model B+
4 mod B

NOT suitable:

Zero*
1 model A
1 mod B

* = 40 pin strip must be soldered
