    Hello everyone,

I hope you can help me and it's just a mistake on my part.

Today I set up my Raspi as a test and wired everything up.

    • 24VAC power supply (24 VDC | 1.5 A | 36Watt | Mean Well HDR-30-24)
    • Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
    • OpenSprinkler installed and running
    • Station switched and measured with multimeter between station and COM -> 24V

But if I now connect the Hunter solenoid valve (PGV-101-MM-B) to the same ports to which I previously successfully tested switching on and off with a multimeter, the valve opens, but it simply no longer switches off.
If I now loosen the connection, the valve immediately switches off again.
In the OpenSprinkler the corresponding connection is also switched off again, but as long as the valve is there, I can continue to measure 24V between the connection and COM, even if it should actually be switched off.

To add to that, I also tried a second valve. Both are new.

    24VAC power supply (24 VDC | 1.5 A | 36Watt | Mean Well HDR-30-24)

But the Mean Well HDR-30-24 is a 24V DC power supply (AC/DC)! You cannot use this and will damage OSPi and the solenoid valves if used for a long time! Use a 24VAC power supply (AC/AC), i.e. 230V input voltage AC, 24V output voltage AC
Solenoid valve technology is based on this voltage.

    Thank you very much @admin.
    shame on me, facepalm…

Sometimes it's easier than you think and you've just made a mistake.
Luckily, due to the bad weather, I wanted to test it yesterday 🙂

Then I'll get the right power supply and only then move on.

    DIN rail power supplies AC

That would be the right power supply for the OpenSprinkler board including Raspberry Pi 2 B, right?

    Correctly!

Thanks for the confirmation. I had already ordered it and used it successfully.

    I'm very satisfied.
