When delivered, OpenSprinkler 3.0/3.2 displays the time in Boston. The unit “Fahrenheit” is also displayed instead of “degrees”. This is because OpenSprinkler uses the settings from the respective region. Under “Edit options”, then “System”, then “Location” select your location and confirm with “Submit”.
The time should then be set correctly straight away. “Degrees” should also now be displayed. If it still says “Fahrenheit”, simply restart the OpenSprinkler.
But what if the time is still not correct or keeps changing? This may be due to the NTP server used. Under “Advanced” the “NTP Sync” option must be active, then the time will be obtained from the specified NTP server.
Tip: If you use a Fritz!Box, you can enter it as an NTP server. If you don't know the IP, go to the web interface of your Fritz!Box and enter “fritz.box” in the browser. In the “Home network/network” area you will see the IP of your box under “This FRITZ!Box”. Then enter this value in OpenSprinkler under “NTP IP address”.
