Hello,
This article on how to properly water lawns addresses the question of a new OpenSprinkler user:
My lawn is irrigated “every 4 days” with 15 liters / m².
If there is a heavy rain event two days after watering, I would have to and would like to water again in 4 days. Anything else would be too short or too long, i.e. wasted money or damaged lawn.
It would be desirable to simply postpone all subsequent events by 2 days.
Unfortunately, that's exactly what doesn't seem to work with the open sprinkler despite a function called "delay"?
With the “rain delay” I can only stop ongoing events and cancel upcoming appointments. But this now means that I can skip the next event and therefore only water again in 6 days or I only water again 2 days after heavy rain.
Am I missing the solution?
Hello,
So in my opinion it is relatively unlikely that it will rain exactly the amount of water you defined. Therefore, with the weather adjustments, i.e. Zimmerman or Evapotranspiration, there is the possibility of having the following irrigations automatically adjusted between 0% and 200%. Depending on the amount of rain, this reduces the watering time.
