Monitor, control and automate garage door actions from anywhere
Have you ever unintentionally left your garage door open after driving away from home? OpenGarage is the solution! With OpenGarage you can monitor the gate status, close or open from anywhere, monitor the movements, get notifications and even delegate to close the gate automatically with the automation feature.
Whether you're at home, in the office or on the go, you can now access OpenGarage with our free apps, available for all mobile platforms. Next time you leave home, you'll never have to feel stressed again because you accidentally left the gate open.
More than just opening and closing
With OpenGarage you can not only monitor the gate, but also whether your vehicle is still in the garage. OpenGarage is installed on the ceiling and uses an ultrasonic distance sensor to check the height below.
Intuitive and user-friendly mobile apps, completely open source product
Our mobile apps for OpenGarage are easy to understand and use. The status of the door is clearly printed on the home page and you can toggle the door with a clearly labeled button. Our apps also allow you to control multiple OpenGarage devices for multiple garages.
OpenGarage is an open source product. The hardware design, software code (including firmware and app code), and API documents are publicly available in the OpenGarage Github repository. You can adapt it to your individual needs. OpenGarage is essentially a WiFi-enabled device with a built-in ultrasonic distance sensor and relay. You can use it as a sump pump sensor to monitor the water level in a sump pump. You can use it as a parking sensor to ensure your car is parked at the perfect distance. You can also connect additional sensors such as temperature and humidity sensors to create a WiFi-enabled temperature and humidity sensor with logged data.
WiFi and cloud support. The hardware is based on the ESP8266 WiFi chip.

Installation:
The video shows the possibility of opening or closing the gate using the remote control. You only need to do this if there is NO pulse connection on the gate drive control unit. OpenGarage simply connects the two wires so that an impulse is triggered.
So it's better to connect OpenGarage directly to the control unit. Manufacturers such as Marantec and others of the same type usually all have an “impulse” connection. This and GND of the control must be connected to OpenGarage, details can be found in your Installation instructions.
For the power connection you need a 230V socket or a USB port.
